Homemade Sesame Milk — Recipes — Plantiful Coach

I ran out of soy milk, and I’m a bit tired of homemade oat milk at the moment. I happened to have a big jar of sesame seeds in the cupboard (no idea why). I know that we can make “milk” from pretty much any seeds, nuts and grains… So.
I soaked 1/2 cup sesame seeds overnight, drained the water, added 1.5 cups fresh water, with a couple of dates and a pinch of salt. Blend for a minute in and strained through a nut milk bag.
It couldn’t be easier — and it’s SO good in coffee!!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 dates pitted
- 1 pinch salt
Directions
- Soak the sesame seeds in cold water overnight.
- After about 8 hours, drain the soaking water and place the seeds in a blender.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of fresh water, along with the dates and salt.
- Blend for a minute or so.
- Strain through a nut milk bag (into a bowl if you want to avoid a mess).
- Enjoy with coffee, and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
